The SSR 30/100 self-rescuer mask which chemically generates oxygen is a chemical oxygen self-contained self-rescuer, emergency escape breathing device or EEBD which allows users to breathe in poorly oxygenated areas as well as in presence of fumes or hazardous toxic substances.

The SSR 30/100 oxygen self-rescuer
The MSA SSR 30/100 self-rescuer with chemical oxygen generation is made for use in areas featuring potential abrupt eruptions of toxic gases or oxygen deficiency. These situations require immediate breathing protection and fastest possible donning of the self-rescuers or escape masks. The SSR 30/100 SCSR can be worn continuously on the belt or on the chest so that it is available immediately in hazardous situations.
This equipment uses proven principles of chemical oxygen generation: humidity and carbon dioxide from expired air produce a KO2 chemical reaction . While carbonic gas is fixed, oxygen is released in a breathing bag. The service life depends on the user's effort intensity and breathing flow rate.
