Dust masks – most commonly known as disposable masks are a bit special respiratory protective units. Contrary to classic equipment, they are made for single use and the whole facepiece is made of air purifying materials.

Once adjusted and featured with a filtering cartridge, the half mask respirators provide efficient respiratory protection against toxic gases and vapors (non-irritating to eyes), dusts and solid and thin particles. 

A gas mask, full face respirator, is an air purifying respiratory protective unit, class 3 respiratory PPE, covering both the breathing tracts and the eyes. Single filter or dual filter gas masks give efficient protection against toxic, irritating and corrosive substances. 

Powered air purifying respirators – PAPR - are considered as the highest level of air purifying respiratory protection equipment. They are positive pressure devices with a motor injecting a constant clean air flow into the facepiece.

They are designed for emergency evacuation situations or when ambient air gets pollution or is poorly oxygenated. EEBD gather escape respirators and emergency escape hoods (air purifying PPE), and self-rescuers (atmosphere supplying respirators).

Self-contained breathing apparatus, SCBA are PPE made for use when the oxygen rate in ambient air is under 19.5% of the volume, in presence of irritating gases or when the pollutant concentration exceeds 60 times its occupational exposure limit value (OEL).

Supplied air respirators are PPE that provides the highest protection respiratory level. Well-suited for many industrial applications, they are ideal in hostile, poorly oxygenated environments or in extreme pollutant concentrations atmosphere. 

Used in a large number of industrial applications (work in confined spaces, painting, asbestos removal, tank cleaning), the breathing air cart remains an ideal solution in absence of a medium pressure compressed air network or for outdoor work.

SCBA cylinders are the source of breathing air for open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus. Attached to the harness and connected to the SCBA via a valve and a supply hose, the SCBA cylinder distributes compressed air into the breathing mask.

An escape SCBA is a class 3 personal protective equipment (PPE) especially designed for hazardous situation can only be used for emergency escape situation and in no way for on-site interventions or to rescue someone in trouble.

Breathing air testers and analyzers are used for spot measurements with colorimetric reagent tubes, for test cases or for continuous measurements of breathing air quality.
