Dräger Aerotest systems make it possible to control compressed breathing air quality on low pressure (Aerotest Alpha) or high pressure (Aerotest Simultan HP) networks. Both versions comply with the EN120021 standard relating to compressed breathing air quality.

These systems use Dräger reagent tubes, a reliable and fast method for detecting and measuring toxic gases. It allows quantitative detection of different potentially dangerous substances like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water and oil vapors in the compressed air flow. Detailed description

Dräger Aerotest systems

The measuring instrument is directly and simply connected to the high pressure air network via a G 5/8 connector. In five minutes, the Dräger Aerotest displays the contamination degree of the breathing air contained in the compressed air flow.

The new Dräger oil impactor specially developed to detect oil aerosols in compressed air is able to measure synthetic oils, regardless of their type and viscosity. The quantitative results are displayed differently.

The EN12021 standard relating to compressed breathing air

This standard defines the quality of compressed air intended for breathable use (outside the hospital environment). It applies to respiratory protection devices (masks, hoods, suits ...) and scuba diving devices:

  • Oxygen content = 21% ± 1%
  • CO2 content < 500
  • CO content < 5 ppm
  • Dew point < -11° C
  • Lubricant content (mist or droplets) < 0.5 ppm. (the air must have no significant smell or taste)
  • Impurities < at the national exposure limit
