UV/IR Flame Detector – Combination of One UV Sensor and Three IR Sensors
The FS20X Plus is a next-generation multiprotocol optical flame detector, combining one ultraviolet (UV) sensor with three infrared (3IR) sensors. This advanced technology ensures enhanced sensitivity and outstanding immunity to false alarms, even in challenging environments such as smoke, fog, rain, or dust. Detailed description
UV/3IR Flame Detector: Combination of Four Sensors
The FS20X Plus combines one ultraviolet (UV) sensor with three infrared (3IR) sensors. This multiprotocol technology provides enhanced sensitivity and high immunity to false alarms. Even in challenging environments (smoke, fog, rain, or dust), the detector reliably distinguishes between a real fire and external interference
Dual Digital Processing for Maximum Reliability
Two high-performance microprocessors ensure fast and accurate measurements. The primary microprocessor performs high-speed digital sampling and real-time signal processing, while the secondary microprocessor manages self-diagnostics, communication, and event/data logging.
Configurable Detection Range up to 84 Meters
For a reference heptane fire of 0.1 m², the FS20X Plus can detect flames at distances up to 84 meters (275 ft) in “very high” sensitivity mode. Four sensitivity levels allow the detector to be tailored to the specific requirements of each industrial site.
Key Advantages of the UV/IR Flame Detector
- Suitable for detecting hydrogen, hydrocarbons (gasoline, ethanol, methane), paper, wood, and other fire sources
- Dual high-performance microprocessors ensure measurement integrity and short response times
- Immune to arc welding and resistant to false alarms under all environmental conditions
- Four selectable sensitivity levels via switch for optimized performance in each application
- PC software and interface module for diagnostics and downloading of event logs and data
- Visual status indicators: Green (power), Red (alarm), Yellow (fault)
- Minimal maintenance for reliable, error-free operation
