Firefighter SCBA

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, SCBA, are used in a non-breathable atmosphere when the oxygen content is low and presents a risk of anoxia. They offer optimal respiratory protection in closed or semi-enclosed environments as well as for outdoor fires that produce a lot of smoke.

Their use is essential for firefighters when they enter smoky rooms where the air is unbreathable. Subject to a prior medical examination, wearing an SCBA is very physical and requires upstream training.
