The X-am 5800 portable multi-gas detector has been specifically designed for the most demanding industrial environments, such as petrochemical sites, confined spaces, or potentially explosive areas. It can simultaneously measure up to 6 gases (explosive gases, O₂, CO, H₂, H₂S, SO₂, NO₂, NH₃, HCN, PH₃, C₂H₄O, NO, Cl₂, O₃, COCl₂, CH₃NH₂, VOCs, amines, odorants, etc.).

CatEx SR and PID HC neo Sensors

The CatEx SR catalytic sensor provides fast and robust detection of flammable gases and vapors such as methane, propane, gasoline, nonane, etc. It is resistant to shock and sensor poisons like silicones. Additionally, the XD-IR infrared sensor enables drift-free detection of flammable gases or carbon dioxide with excellent accuracy (0.01 Vol.-%).

The PID HC neo sensor allows for the measurement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as isobutylene or benzene.

Long-life electrochemical sensors

The X-am® 5800 is equipped with compact, precise, and durable XXS electrochemical sensors (up to 5 years lifespan for some). It can accommodate single sensors (e.g., CO, H₂S, O₂) or dual sensors (e.g., O₂/CO, H₂S/CO), allowing for a customized configuration to fit every need. Their low power consumption and high stability help reduce operating costs.

Ergonomic and robust

Compact, lightweight, and designed for demanding industrial environments, the X-am® 5800 features an ultra-durable housing that is waterproof and dustproof (IP68), and drop-tested up to 2 meters. It has large buttons suitable for use with gloves, a clear and easy-to-read display, and a sturdy clip with a D-ring for secure attachment. An optional green D-light LED indicates the device is ready for use.

Maximum safety

Approved for use in Ex zone 0, this detector ensures optimal safety in hazardous environments. Its design ensures effective gas entry, even in the case of partial obstruction—for example, when stored in a pocket or if a gas inlet is accidentally covered.

Innovative Area Monitoring

The X-am® 5800, compatible with the X-zone 5500/5800 beacon, enables wireless area monitoring—ideal for team deployments. Connected to the Gas Detection Connect software, it allows real-time monitoring and enhances on-site safety.

Data management and analysis

Fully compatible with Dräger Gas Detection Connect, it enables optimized device fleet management. Thanks to smart data storage and real-time transmission, it offers advanced measurement analysis, helping to support decision-making and on-site safety. Moreover, information is accessible via a web browser, ensuring easy data access wherever you are.

Diffusion or Pump Mode

The detector can be used in diffusion mode or with an external pump (up to 45 meters of tubing) for remote measurement in tanks, wells, or other confined spaces. Switching between modes is simple and tool-free. The external pump is compatible with accessories from previous series (X-am 2500, 5000, 5600).

Maintenance included

This device comes with included maintenance, to be performed twice a year, ensuring proper equipment operation.
