Midas® EX – Explosion-Proof Extractive Gas Detector
Honeywell Midas® EX Explosion-Proof Extractive Gas Detector: precision, PoE/Modbus connectivity, and multi-gas detection up to 30 m for ATEX hazardous areas. Detailed description
General Overview
The Honeywell Midas® EX is a single-point extractive gas detector designed for the continuous monitoring of toxic, flammable, corrosive, pyrophoric, oxidizing, or asphyxiant gases in explosive atmospheres (ATEX/IECEx). Compact and easy to install, it provides accurate and fast detection through its integrated sampling system.
Robustness and Materials
Its explosion-proof design (Ex db IIC T6 Gb) and rugged housing ensure reliable protection in critical industrial environments such as microelectronics, chemical processing, aerospace, and wastewater treatment.
Comfort and Usability
Equipped with a backlit LCD display featuring a bar graph and status icons, the Midas® EX provides clear and intuitive readings. Its Power over Ethernet (PoE) system simplifies installation by combining power and communication in a single RJ45 cable.
Connectivity and Integrated Technologies
Fully Modbus/TCP compatible, it integrates easily into monitoring and control systems. Its pre-calibrated SureCell™ sensors deliver high accuracy without the need for frequent recalibration, while the long-life internal pump (> 2 years) ensures continuous and reliable operation.
Accessories and Maintenance
Available with optional filters, pumps, and tubing kits, the Midas® EX requires minimal maintenance and allows for quick replacement of interchangeable sensor cartridges detecting over 30 gases.
Standards and Certifications
Certified ATEX, IECEx, and KCs, and compliant with EN 61000-6-4 and EN 50270 standards, the Midas® EX guarantees maximum safety for all applications in hazardous zones.
