The MX 256 is a digital gas detection controller that can manage up to 256 type OLCT10N gas sensors. It has been conceived to meet the needs of tertiary applications requiring high capacity, flexibility, and ease of use. Its structure of 8 lines of 32 gas sensors allows substantial reductions in wiring costs.

MX256 gas detection controller assets

Designed to be used with a digital link (proprietary protocol) with the MX256 controller, OLCT10N detectors are particularly suitable for tertiary applications such as universities, laboratories, wineries, breweries, etc.

The gases detected by the OLCT10N are explosive (methane, butane, propane, hydrogen), ammonia (NH3), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and oxygen (O2).

Depending on the needs and applications, additional input/output modules can be connected to the controller:

  • 4 or 8 relay cards for the control systems (sound and/or light signals, telephone transmitter, gas detection, ventilation, etc.).
  • Logic input board that can receive all information or nothing, emergency stop, limit switch, fire or intrusion alarm, etc.).
  • Analog output board (sensor signal copy, min, or average calculation of a group of detectors) for connection to a recorder, a PLC, a BMS, etc.

The simple and user-friendly COM256 software completes the simplicity of the controller implementation.

As an option, the MX256 controller can be equipped with a backup battery (approximately 1 hour for 50 toxic gas sensors) and an RS485 MODBUS protocol interface for communication with a supervision system.
