The Propak self-contained breathing apparatus
Approved according to EN 137:2002 Type 2 – which includes the highly demanding flame resistance test – the Propak self-contained breathing apparatus offers an unrivalled performance level required by professional firefighters. Ultra-lightweight, this fireproof self-contained breathing apparatus is also MED 10th amendment approved which means that it is approved to the latest marine certification.
Propak is a type 2 open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (OC-SCBA) with compressed oxygen. It is composed by a backplate, a padded harness and a powerful pneumatic system that includes a cylinder connector, a pressure reducer, a manometer, a low pressure whistle and a demand valve.
Combined, the reducer and the cylinder connector only feature two mobile parts in order to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. The reducer can handle pressures up to 379 bar without prior adjustment. It features a bronze filter that protects the high pressure reducer against residues that may lay in cylinders.
Propak firefighter SCBA assets
- Compact positive pressure demand valve with tilting power-operated diaphragm, low breathing resistance and fast dynamic performances, automatic activation from first breath and a free-hand bypass ring.
- First stage reducer features a non-adjustable spring piston mechanism and an MP output protected by an overpressure valve. Body and valve cap made of nickel-platted brass with stainless steel spring and U hose fastening clip.
- Bourdon tube dial, glasses made of shock- and heat-resistant polycarbonate. Safety unit behind the manometer
